James Stewart (May 20, 1908 - July 2, 1997) was an American actor, known for his voice and persona, which came exemplfy the "All-American Everyman" character in films like Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, It's a Wonderful Life, and Harvey. He appeared in four of Hitchcock's films and even formed a production company with him, Patron, Inc. in the 1990s it would be the subject a Supreme Court case, Stewart v. Abend.
